I had a custom run of tubing made, black and double thickness of what is available off-the-shelf. This should give better insulation, as well as a very sure grip when locking the basket in. Will be installed a little lower on the production units, the scrap tubing I had to test fitting was a little […]
While the next run is being completed by our machine shop, I’ve decided to spend a little spare time on this: http://www.home-barista.com/levers/open-source-lever-project-kit-style-t39181.html Join in on the fun and see what we come up with together!
We are fully sold out of version 2 unit! We will have stock of our new v2.1 units in around January 2016. Would like to thank all our customers for making it happen. In the future small refinements are planned for the next production run, but overall the core of the device will remain very […]
The Background The idea is to get a higher shot temperature out of the Forge than would be otherwise easily possible by pre-heating with just boiling water. First introduced on HB by Peter (beananimal) here: http://www.home-barista.com/espresso-machines/espressoforge-first-impressions-t35885-160.html#p423659 The Setup The Forge placed ontop of a Fino 1.2L kettle. My Forge has a small hole drilled in […]

Happy to report that all order back-logs have been completed. I did have some delays with getting the custom stands in, but all parts are now in and units ready to ship. In the meantime I’m getting remaining Forges pre-assembled so that I’ll have less work to do when any orders come in. Over the […]
I know everyone has been waiting, so here is the result! Units will be shipping out today. I expect most orders to be fulfilled within about 7-10 days. You will receive tracking numbers from my site once your order is sent and dropped off at the shipping center.
Production has gotten a little behind schedule. Our machine shop had several upgrades to their power system which put them back by a week. Also, the head machinist suggested that we weld the tubes in place instead of relying on a pressure fit. I went with his expertise on this, but the downside is that […]
Planning to build a custom ring stand as much requested by users! You can see more details on the product page here.
Testing a new hand-grip material called Santoprene. It’s a vulcanized thermoplastic with the feel of rubber. In addition, you can see the new T-handle for Version 2 units pictured. Note: the new T-handle is M10 x 1.5 threaded, so an adapter would be needed to make it work on the V1 units.
